Posto by The Federal is located in The Longmeadow Shops and serves “old-school new Italian” dishes. While Posto and The Federal share the same executive chef, Michael Presnal, Posto is more casual than the Agawam fine-dining destination.

Whereas The Federal does service with elegance on white lenient, Posto does service with elegance on newspaper tissue printed to look like vintage news articles.

Since opening in October 2019, online reviews have praised Posto for cooking updated classics with fresh ingredients. The restaurant serves brick oven Neapolitan-style pizza, pasta, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and desserts

Yelp foodie Ariel S. of Windsor, Connecticut, said Posto has truly elevated traditional Chicken Parmesan.

“This place is awesome! I'm not one to go out to eat and order chicken parm usually but it was their signature dish and OMG WAS I HAPPY I ORDERED IT!,” Ariel S. said. “This dish blows any chicken Parmesan right out of the park! The mixture of textures and flavors give your tastebuds a run for their money! Absolutely 10/10 will order every time now! Chicken Parm.”

At Posto, menu standouts include Truffled popcorn, Fried Brussels sprouts, Cacio e Pepe fries, Rafanata (potato-Pecorino cakes, horseradish root, pancetta aioli, Fire-roasted half chicken, Fennel sausage pizza, Porkchop Saltimbocca, Chicken Parmesan, Old School Spaghetti and meatballs, Butternut squash Luna, Chop salad, and gelato or sorbet with housemade pizzelle. Posto also serves The Federal’s famed risotto balls.

Yelp foodie Kerry M. of Boston and San Diego said Posto’s pasta can’t be beaten.

“Great spot! Delicious food and drinks, family friendly, modern casual atmosphere," Kerry M. said. "Menu has something to offer everyone and delivers quality food like their other restaurants, Vinted and Federal. Went with a group of friends and shared several items.... Still dreaming about the Bucatini! I live in Boston and have all sorts of Italian restaurants to choose from, but cannot wait to revisit POSTO! Highly recommend!”

Posto’s interior is clean and minimal in a palette of white, black, and red. An accent wall features block lettered Italian phrases, while others are painted in pale moss green and present black and white framed photos. Globe lights hang from the ceiling and plexiglass dividers have been placed between the wooden tables. Posto also offers outdoor dining.

Yelp foodie Lisa S. of Agawam said dining at Posto is an experience that takes you out of your day-to-day life and into something special.

“I felt like we were on vacation,” Lisa S. said. “The ambiance of eating outside under the tent with dim white lights. Food was fabulous...loved the risotto balls. This place is doing things right. Service was excellent.”
